You’ve heard it before: breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and yes we believe it too. Not just because it’s first but because it can set the tone for your whole day. Ever have one of those days where you started out wanting to have a healthy day, just to slip up at some point and then say “Screw this, I’ve already ruined the day, might as well finish the whole cake!” We’ve all been there, and while there is NOTHING wrong with treating yourself, the mentality of giving in and eating ALL THE CHOCOLATE isn’t the best and usually leaves you feeling worse than if you had just enjoyed your treat and moved onto the next healthy meal.
Which brings us back to breakfast and why it’s so important to start your day off on the right foot. Doesn’t it seem like it’s a little easier to stay healthier when that’s how your day starts? Like when you actually wake up for that morning workout and then are motivated to continue making healthy choices throughout the rest of the day? During these winter months smoothies and bowls may not be the most appealing breakfast, so when it’s freezing cold and raining outside, we at Kali-O’s like to warm up with a bowl of oatmeal first thing.
